1.1 Information You Provide Directly

Account Information: Name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you register via Apple Sign In or Google Sign In, we receive limited profile information from those providers.
Profile Information: Display name, profile photograph, and other optional profile details.
Communications: If you contact us for support or feedback, we retain those communications.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

Usage Data: Features accessed, content viewed, search queries, time spent, and navigation patterns.
Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
Log Data: IP addresses, access times, pages viewed, and app crashes.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

Authentication Providers: Basic profile information from Apple or Google as authorized by you.
Financial Data Sources: We aggregate publicly available information from SEC filings, congressional STOCK Act disclosures, and other public financial disclosure systems. This is not your personal financial information.

Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity
Deliver personalized content including your watchlist and followed investor feeds
Send push notifications when investors you follow disclose new trades (where enabled)
Analyze usage patterns to improve features and user experience
Detect and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity
Comply with applicable laws and legal processes
Generate anonymized, aggregated statistics about Service usage

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. Full stop.

We share your information only with:

Service Providers: Supabase (database), Expo (app platform), Apple/Google (authentication), and Finnhub (financial data) — all contractually bound to protect your data.
Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with prior notice.
With Your Consent: For any other purpose with your explicit consent.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve disputes.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest, and access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Access & Correction: Update your account information at any time in the app's Settings.
Deletion: Delete your account via Settings → Delete Account, or email [email protected].
Notifications: Disable push notifications anytime in your device settings or in the app.
California Residents (CCPA): You have the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Contact [email protected].
EEA/UK Residents (GDPR): You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Contact [email protected].

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, contact [email protected].

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app with a revised effective date.

Nothing on Coattail — including trade data, Coattail Scores, AI-generated summaries, signals, alerts, watchlists, or any other content — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, legal advice, tax advice, or any other form of professional advice. 9.2 Not a Registered Advisor or Broker

Coattail is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, financial planner, or any other type of regulated financial institution. Coattail is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the U.S. Congress, or any other government body or regulatory agency. No content on the Service should be construed as a solicitation or offer to buy or sell any security or financial instrument.

9.3 Past Performance

Historical performance data displayed for any tracked investor — including win rates, returns, or Coattail Scores — is based solely on publicly disclosed transactions and is provided for informational purposes only. Past performance does not guarantee, predict, or imply future results. Investment returns and principal value will fluctuate, and an investor's actual results may differ materially from historical performance.

9.4 Data Accuracy and Completeness

Information displayed on Coattail is sourced from public government disclosures, SEC filings, regulatory databases, and licensed third-party data providers. While we make reasonable efforts to present data accurately, we cannot guarantee the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any data presented. Public filings may contain errors, omissions, or delays introduced by the filing party. Coattail is not responsible for inaccuracies in source data.

9.5 Market Data

Real-time and historical market data is provided by third-party data providers and may be subject to delay. Market data is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute a basis for trading decisions. Coattail makes no representation that prices or data are accurate, complete, or current.
